Mercer's School of Engineering Spring Engineering Expo

Mercer’s School of Engineering is holding their annual Spring Engineering Expo on Friday, April 16, 2010 and would like to personally extend an invitation. The expo will be held from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. in the University Center’s basketball arena, a coliseum that seats over 3,000 on our Macon campus. Campus tours and admissions information will be offered throughout the day as well.  This is a great opportunity for your students to observe and interact with undergraduate engineering students here at Mercer.  Some pictures from last year’s event are available at the following link: http://www.mercer.edu/engineering/newsevents/Expo2010Promo/Expo2009/index.html

The event will feature:

Freshman Engineering Competition

Follow the live competition of freshman design vehicles on the arena floor. Chat with students about their vehicles and cheer for your favorites; let the games begin!

Senior Design and Faculty

Visit with senior engineering students showing their senior engineering design projects, senior engineering honor students showing posters and discussing their undergraduate research projects and even talk to faculty who teach engineering, Technical Communications, and Industrial Management to learn what majoring in these fields involves and what kind of high school background best fit these majors. These events will take place around the top of the arena, an area known as “the street.”

Research Symposium

Tour the research symposium of students in the university honors program from all majors on campus and listen as they describe their undergraduate research projects in Heritage Hall, just outside the arena doors. Take a stroll down the hall and learn a little about Mercer’s expansive history as well!

Campus Tours and Admissions

Campus walking tours lasting 45 minutes will leave at 2:00pm, 3:00pm, and 4:00pm from Heritage Hall. Listen as current Mercer students walk you around their campus, tell you their personal stories, and explain the vast history and tradition of our main campus.

Please RSVP to Megan DeLong by email at DeLong_MR@Mercer.edu by Monday, April 12.

This event is an exciting opportunity to get to know Mercer University’s School of Engineering as well as explore a campus full of offerings and engage its students. We hope you’ll join us!
