Important College Visit Procedures

College visits are an extremely important part of any student's education.  Sometimes these visits give a student an understanding of what is waiting on them beyond the walls of North Oconee.  From this visit, they can begin to see that college is not so scary and that it is actually something to look forward to.  These meetings can certainly allow students to determine if a specific college "fits" them.  It is the value that we place on these visits that North Oconee High School has set aside two visit days in the spring of the junior year, and two in senior year to accommodate this.  Whenever a student is planning a visit to a college, it is very important to schedule this visit with the office of admissions at the college.  This can easily be done by going to the college's website and looking for the "schedule a visit" quick link.  This will make sure that you and your student have a tour of campus, meet with admissions and financial aid folks, and possibly get to sit in on a class.

Students wishing to take advantage of this must fill out the COLLEGE VISIT FORM.  This form can be printed by clicking on the link below, or can be picked up in the counseling office.  Please remember to turn in your completed form no later than three days before your visit is scheduled.   While you are at the college, they will offer to provide you with proof of your visit.  Take them up on this!  You will need to give Mrs. Paul in the attendance office this proof so that you will be able to receive an excused absence.  Please be aware that there is little to no flexibility on this policy.
