Athens Area College Fair

So you are clueless about college?  It doesn't have to be that way!  Life doesn't happen by accident.  It comes from positioning yourself in the direction you hope to head.  In order to head in a direction, one must know what that direction is.  That is where a college fair can be just what the doctor order for a student who doesn't know what their five year plan will look like.  On Monday, September 20th at 6 to 8:30 pm, there will be a college fair at the Classic Center.  This is totally free, and you and your student can mingle about amongst approximately 100 college representatives.  Schools from all over the Southeast and beyond will be there to share with you everything you ever wanted to know about their college.  One important tip: Students should ask two to three questions to a parent's one.  This will put the responsibility on the student to determine his or her own five year plan, and will encourage him or her to grasp the reality that a plan needs to be in place.  Additionally, it will send the message to the recruiter (who might be the one who reads the student's application later on in the future) the distinct impression that the student is the one interested in the college, not mom or dad.  We hope to see you there on the 20th.
