The Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Award has been given annually to a sophomore who has been an outstanding leader at school and in the community. This award is based upon sturdy academic achievement, and even more importantly, good citizenship. Last year, Allie Petersen received this award and attended the Summer Leadership program that HOBY puts on in the summer. If you would like to find out more about this program, please ask Allie about her experience. She came back totally pumped about it!
One outstanding sophomore from North Oconee will be recognized as the Hugh O'Brian Award winner this year. This could be you! Applications are available by clicking on the link below, and are due by October 15, 2010. The winner will be recognized at Honors Night in May, and is encouraged to go to the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Conference this June 4-6th at Georgia Southwestern University in Americus, Georgia. The cost of this conference is not part of the award. Any sophomore who is not selected for this award is still eligible to attend this leadership conference.
