This is an evidence-based practice; HeartMath techniques and emWave technology not only engage young people and affect their ability to be academically successful, but also improve their interactions with others. HeartMath helps students to reduce anxiety and self-regulate their emotional state to improve their ability to enhance the ability to focus and to perform more effectively when taking tests. The protocol has been shown to be helpful with test anxiety and subject-specific anxiety, and with students who have ADD/ADHD. One study has shown that math performance was enhanced by 35 percent, and reading comprehension by 14 percent.
