Summer Young Dawgs Opportunity

Please read below an email if you are interested in doing a summer program at UGA with a math/science related internship.  This could be an amazing resume builder!
Dear Students:
My name is Jim Geiser and I work with the Young Dawgs Summer Science Program at UGA. The Program is designed to provide high-achieving high school sophomores and juniors (rising juniors and seniors) an opportunity to participate in an unpaid science internship during the summer. You must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and provide a copy of school transcript.
We are anticipating 30-35 summer placements in a variety of lab settings including physics, chemistry, astronomy, engineering, computer science, veterinary medicine, pharmaceutical science, nano-materials, etc. The deadline for submitting your application and attachments is February 15 (see below). However, the sooner you submit your information, the better, because once the program is full, subsequent applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
Although the dates and daily times of the internships vary, the average commitment is 4-6 hours per day, Monday through Friday from May 31-July 12. Each student will provide a final presentation at the end of the program. There is no cost to participate in these unpaid internships.
In order to apply, please complete the attached application, send a cover letter, resume, and copy of your transcript to jgeiser@uga.edu. In the subject of your email, type 2013 Summer Young Dawgs. You can go to our website at http://www.hr.uga.edu/uga-young-dawgs-program. There are cover letter and resume templates you can use. It is very important that your cover letter and resume are well done because this is what is sent to the professors. Please email me if you have any questions.
Thank you. Jim Geiser
