Are you interested in Business, Marketing, Culinary Arts, Hotel/Lodging Management or Event Planning? If so, consider the Hospitality Careers Academy, a terrific summer opportunity for students interested in a career in Hospitality and Tourism. During the weeklong Academy, students will listen to guest speakers in the industry, participate in job shadowing and industry tours, take part in team-building and leadership activities, all while working towards the culminating project that integrates the skills and information they have gained throughout the week.
How can students apply to be a part of this unique summer opportunity? Student acceptance will be based on a competitive process which includes: a completed application, an essay question, three recommendations, and a personal interview. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this chance to gain an in-depth perspective of careers in the Hospitality and Tourism industry, the second largest and fastest growing industry in Georgia. We are looking for the future leaders in our industry.
To be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:
- Overall minimum GPA of 2.5
- Acceptable attendance record (according to student’s school policy)
- Acceptable discipline record (according to student’s school policy)
- Personal interview to determine student’s maturity level: focus on career area and potential success at Summer Academy
