Day Four

Day Four is coming to a close, and I am looking forward to getting back home.  This has been such a good week filled with learning opportunities and making some great relationships.  Some of the things that have been learned have been shared here on the Guidance Blog, but there are many things that I learned and will be sharing with everyone in our department that will be so useful in helping us to serve North Oconee students.

A huge benefit for the students of North Oconee will be found in the relationships that were made at this conference with college admissions professionals from around the United States (and abroad).  These relationships help us to better promote NOHS and her students.  We also learned about specific programs and outreach programs which will allow us to better connect students with a college or university that is going to be a good fit for the student.

The fact that North Oconee has counselors who are affiliated with the National Association of College Admission Counseling and actively participate in NACAC events ultimately gives students better college admissions counseling, and that is a benefit.  We have world class students, and North Oconee's desire is to make them ready for whatever challenge is waiting on the other side of graduation.  I want to recognize the leadership at NOHS for their continued commitment to the quality of college counseling and the real benefits that it provides the students.

Looking forward to seeing you on Monday!
