The American Legion sponsors a summer program for boys, Boys State, and one for girls, Girls state. This experience is for students who are interested in government and politics. This is a great resume builder, and something students who considering an appointment at one of our military academies upon graduation are strongly recommended to do. The dates for this year's program are for Boys State- June 15-21, 2014 at Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Georgia and for Girls State- June 8-13, 2014 at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia.
