NOHS has been invited to send our students to a technology event at UGA. App Day will be held on April 18th from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.. Registration will take place in the Tate Center at UGA on the 5th floor (Tate Grand Hall).
Microsoft and The Society for Women in Technolgoy have partnered together to bring App Day to UGA. App Day will be a fun computer science event to teach students the basics of programming principles while having a fun time. Each student will build their own simple application in just a few hours. App Day is an initiative by SWT and Microsoft to increase the interest of students into CS and other technology related fields early on.
I would love to have North Oconee High School students join in on App Day. The invitation is open for all students who are interested in technology, regardless of their academic standing. We would like to have a good range of individuals than can benefit from the program.
There is no fee to apply for App Day. Students are responsible for transportation to and from the event. Please visit our website www.appdayatuga.
