UNG at NOHS

Next year, University of North Georgia will offer several courses at North Oconee through the ACCEL Program.  If you do not know what the ACCEL Program is, it is an opportunity to take college courses that will count at college (in most cases) and will count here at NOHS.  These courses are paid for through your tax dollars, thus providing the student with a relatively free college credit, as opposed to expensive when he or she gets to college after graduation.  This program is open to any student with a 3.25 HOPE GPA (How to Check a HOPE GPA), who has taken, and made at least a minimum combined SAT score of 970 with a minimum of 440 math (500 if taking Math 4 or Acc. Math 3) and 480 critical reading – or – minimum ACT composite score of 20 with minimum 18 math (19 if taking pre-calculus) and 20 English.  The Last dates to take a qualifying test are June 7 for the SAT and June 14 for the ACT.  The Application deadline for this opportunity is July 1.  ACCEL students must be US Citizens, in either the 11th or 12th grade next school year, and go through the application process.  The UNG application can be completed on www.gacollege411.org under "College Planning."  Click on "Applications and Transcripts" To complete an application AND to send a transcript (both required parts of this process).
