In the days to come, your senior will be inclined to lose focus of specific dates, times and procedures. Please help him or her with these friendly reminders:
1) Graduation practice attendance is MANDATORY. Students should report to Stegman Coliseum by 10 am on Wednesday. He or she must bring cap, gown and wear whatever he or she will be wearing on Saturday. As always, young men will wear ties and young ladies will wear dresses with closed toe shoes. The dress-code is in place to preserve the pomp of this public celebration of 13 years of work that your student has given. Bring $$ for parking at Stegman.
2) Graduation will begin at 10 am on Saturday the 24th. The graduates will begin their processional at 9:40. We ask that parents, friends and relatives refrain from air horns or other forms of loud celebration to protect the pomp of the ceremony AND to allow the student's name that follows your graduate to be heard. Please be courteous in this one way.
3) Make sure to finish up all accounts here at NOHS. That means if money is owed, things have to be returned, remaining assignments need to be turned in, one last cram session before an exam needs to be attended, or the necessary "thank yous" or I'm sorrys" need to be said, please tend to these things as your time at NOHS is very short. Not attending to some of the list above could result in the undesired outcome of more time to your North Oconee stay being added. Let's don't go there.
4) If you still have not paid for Senior Dues ($65) or have not ordered a cap and gown (call Herff-Jones ASAP 706-769-0555, please stop reading this blog entry immediately and go tend to these things.
Let's finish up strong and remember that "Once a Titan, always a Titan." We love the seniors of NOHS and are so proud of their accomplishments. Honors Night will be on May 19 at 6 pm. Invitations of those students who will receive any recognition at Honors Night were mailed on Monday the 5th. Watch your mail box for the invitation.
