P.S.  More info:
The Georgia Military Scholarship program is authorized by
Official Code of Georgia 20-3-427, and regulated by the Georgia Student Finance
Commission Regulations – 3100.  There are
42 scholarships available each year:
three per U.S. Congressional District.
They pay for uniforms, tuition, books, fees, room and board. In
addition, recipients receive monthly pay and stipends for serving as enlisted
members of the Georgia Army National Guard while being full time students and
Cadets at UNG.  This scholarship is worth
approximately $70,000 over four years.
Candidates must be nominated by members of the Georgia General Assembly;
entering freshmen in the Corps of Cadets at UNG; legal residents of Georgia;
have a minimum 3.0 cumulative high school GPA; be accepted for admission to UNG
in a “regular admit” status; and meet the physical and health standards for
serving in the Guard.  Recipients agree
to repay the scholarship by serving part-time in the Georgia Army National
Guard as commissioned officers for at least four years after graduating with
their bachelor’s degrees.
Note that UNG is one of only six Senior Military Colleges in
the country, is a University System of Georgia leadership institution, and is
the Military College of Georgia.  Our
Army ROTC program and Corps of Cadets produce outstanding leaders for the U.S.
Army, for the Georgia Army National Guard, and for industry, government and
non-governmental organizations in the State of Georgia.
