Are You One To Use Money Wisely?

Do you think you have what it takes to determine the best path for investments in real estate preservation?  The Watson-Brown Foundation Junior Board has opened up it's application for high school students.  Check out the information below.  This program is a GREAT experience for students that are interested in real estate and financing/banking.

Hello Teachers and Counselors!

I am the Advisor of the Athens Chapter of the Watson-Brown Foundation Junior Board of Trustees. The WBF Junior Board is a dedicated group of seven to thirteen area high school students (grades 10-12) whose mission is to preserve local history. As these students are entrusted with $33,000 each spring, we look for the best students to join. These students must be able to attend monthly meetings and commit several hours in the spring to visiting local sites and preparing a presentation for why that site deserves grant funding. I would appreciate it if you would share this with your top students, or those who would be well suited for this group. This application is due Friday, September 15, including the two reference letters.

We have recently made our application available online at http://www.trrcobbhouse.org/junior-board-1/#student-application. I am also happy to send paper copies of the application, or I can provide a short presentation (10-15 minutes) if you would like me to explain the program to your students in person, or if a Junior Board member attends your school, they can provide the presentation. Let me know if you would be interested in either!

This makes an excellent addition to a college application for those who put in the effort, and provides great real world experience for working with or for non-profits.
