Over the next few weeks college recruiters will be on our campus to talk with students at NOHS about their campus and admissions requirements. This is a great way for students to hear what is expected in the admissions/scholarship process, figure out what they want from a college campus, while getting your questions answered. Students can gain TONS of information during these sessions and the only thing they lose is Titan Time. It is a win-win situation! College sessions are open to grades 9-12 and will be held in the PLC. The following colleges are slated to visit:
SCAD-August 15th (rescheduled)
University of Georgia - August 16th
Oglethorpe University- September 5th
Davidson- September 6th
University of Alabama- September 6th
Agnes Scott- September 20th
Wofford College- September 22nd
Wow! What a list already! If a student would like to attend any of these sessions, click on the link to register beside the college name. The sessions will be held in the PLC (room connected to the counseling office) during Titan on the designated date. Again, these are great opportunities that your student won't want to miss!
Questions for your student to think about when in an admissions recruitment session:
1. What is the best way to prepare for your university? What are your admissions standards?
2. What unique programs are incorporated into your school's curriculum?
3. What is the school culture like? How do student find their "niche"?
4. Do you offer career services/planning/co-ops/internships?
5. What type of tutoring services are available?
6. What kinds of ways can students get involved on your campus?
