the film or gaming industry; either as an artist or scientist?
Magic Spell Studios will be the place where higher education and
these industries collaborate in a unique vision.
For student animators it will be a studio where game designers, programmers and animators partner to produce commercially viable games.
For student filmmakers it will be a studio where outside producers will bring their production needs to a qualified New York State Tax Incentive sound stage (one of very few in upstate NY) and use film students on their crew, give them appropriate screen credit and pay them.
For motion picture student scientists it will be a facility that will allow research and practice on state of the art industry equipment.
Magic Spell Studios establishes a large-scale partnership between the School of Film & Animation and the School of Interactive Games & Media that offers students matriculating in all our degrees opportunities in project development, research and marketable deliverables.
RIT has been supplying the Motion Picture Industry with qualified graduates for over 35 years. Alumni have established careers at Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, Blue Sky Studios, Industrial Light and Magic, Paramount, HBO, Fox Searchlight, Lucas Films, MTV, Nickelodeon, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Dolby, Imax, etc.
