Must Read for Seniors!

During this time of year, our office and many of our teachers are busy cranking out letters of recommendation. As many colleges and universities are moving towards requiring letters of recommendation, the volume of letters that we write has increased exponentially.  Vandy posted a timely and articulate article that gives students tips for handling the process.  PLEASE read this post!  Play close attention to point 3, 4, & 5.  We need information and time to craft letters that are of the quality that you want and deserve.

  • Provide us with a resume, brag sheet, personal statement, anything that will help us and your teachers promote you!
  • Also, please give us at least 3 weeks to generate your letter. It takes time to create letters that are personal to each student that we write about.  We want and need that time to draft something that we both are proud of submitting.  Our office takes pride in supporting our students and providing letters that we feel will bring an admissions office more information about each student that is applying from NOHS.  We need time to create those.
  • Also, the teachers of NOHS spend an ENORMOUS amount of time writing letters of recommendation.  Please let them know how much you appreciate it by sending them a note of thanks!  You are a better contender for the admissions process because of them!  This is an awesome time to let them know what they mean to you!
