Walton Electric Membership Corporation is pleased to offer a
scholarship opportunity to a student at NOHS. In 1987, Georgia EMC, along with
the 42 EMCs in Georgia, established a scholarship fund in honor of Walter
Harrison. Harrison, called “Mr. Rural Electrification” in Georgia, was
nationally known for his lifetime efforts to make electricity available to
every home and farm in Georgia.
Eleven scholarships in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded

***PLEASE NOTE*** On
the 1st page of the application, it states that the application
deadline is Friday, January 18, 2019 and that the applications has to be
postmarked by this date and sent directly to a PO Box. If you have already sent yours in, that is okay.
This is a state wide application and the rules are being changed. We have
spoken directly to Walton EMC and they asked that we collect the applications
at NOHS and forward them on to Walton EMC by the date indicated. Therefore, we
ask that you submit your printed application to the Counseling Office on
MONDAY, JANUARY 7th no later than 3:30.
