Knowledge@Wharton High School Information

Knowledge@Wharton High School — KWHS for short — is on a mission to provide high school students and educators around the world with a deeper understanding of business and personal finance and to equip them with the skills to excel in the global marketplace. We are a part of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a world leader in business education.
We are very excited to announce the latest addition to our KWHS Global Young Leaders Academy – a two-week finance program happening this summer on Wharton’s Philadelphia campus. Expanding on the business and entrepreneurship session that we have run successfully for five years, GYLA-Finance is an entirely different academic experience that includes similar fun activities and opportunities to build relationships with students from around the world.
GYLA-Finance participants will explore finance from many perspectives, starting with basic concepts like the time value of money and compound interest, and leading into corporate finance, ethics and investment decision-making. Students will trade on Wharton’s Online Trading & Investment Simulator — using real-world market data without risking real money — and develop and deliver a team-based investment project. In addition to rigorous course work, GYLA students collaborate closely in teams, experience campus life, get to know international classmates, and discover Philadelphia and other local destinations.
GYLA-Finance Dates:
Session 1: June 23 – July 6, 2019
Session 2: July 7 – July 20, 2019
Session 3: July 21 – August 3, 2019
Sincerely,
The KWHS Global Young Leaders Academy Team
