Free Coding Competition

Computer Science is going to be an integral part of future careers. The more that our students can be exposed to coding and CS, the more marketable they will be moving into a professional setting. If your student has an interest in coding but not sure where to start this looks like a fun way to kick start their coding experience! Have a pro coder at home? This event could provide a way to challenge them! Looks like worth checking out!

FAQ:

What can I make at Virtual CodeDay?

Pretty much anything! Most people make apps or games, but you can also create an electronics project, write music for a game, create the art for an app, or something else we haven't even imagined!

Here are some examples of past projects.

Can I participate if I don't know how to code?

Yes! In fact, many people who participate in CodeDay don't know how to code. You can attend our beginner-focused “learn to make a game” workshops, or join a team and help in another way.

Do I need to have a team?

Nope! Everyone will be in our Discord chat, and we'll have everyone pitch at the start, so you'll be able to find a team suited to your interests. Or you can work by yourself!

Can I work on a team with a friend in another state?

Yes! At Virtual CodeDay, there are no requirements on who you can and can't work with. Just be sure to keep in mind time zones!
