Join the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the Arconic Foundation to ignite a promising future for girls! Ensuring that girls are exposed to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) is fundamental to AAUW’s mission of advancing gender equity. As soon as girls start school, they encounter subtle (and sometimes blatant) messages that discourage them from pursuing their curiosity about science. Students of color and those from low-income families face additional barriers and biases. This summer, we’re offering a free STEMEd for Girls program for girls in grades 9-12, which includes six 1½- to 2-hour virtual sessions. Access Registration Information for Free AAUW STEMEd Program The program is designed to attract teen girls to STEM and help parents and guardians to nurture their girls’ potential at college and beyond. Participants will also get advice and inspiration from STEM ambassadors/mentors. STEMEd for Girls virtual camps will be held from July through August 2021. This program will help students gain confidence, have fun, get inspired—and join a national community of girls and women. If you have any questions about this exciting opportunity, please contact stem@aauw.org. Sincerely, Leshell Hatley Director of STEM Programs AAUW STEMEd for Girls is supported by a grant from the Arconic Foundation.
