We are gearing up for another exciting scholarship cycle here at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta and wanted to send you a few quick updates. 
We wanted to specifically reach out and let you know your students from Oconee County are eligible to apply for the Everett Williams Scholarship which awards two graduating high school seniors $1,500 for four years to attend a postsecondary degree. Students can learn more about the Everett Williams scholarship and numerous others live on our site! Attached is a flier and FAQ explaining our scholarships and how students can begin the process of applying to these opportunities. Please feel free to forward these materials to anyone you think should apply or can help promote the scholarships to potential applicants.

About the Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program
The Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program is a highly selective, full scholarship for Pell-eligible high school seniors. The scholarship will be awarded to 20 high school seniors in 2018, with the intent of promoting their academic excellence and leadership development through college graduation.
Selected Fellows will be eligible for up to five years of funding to complete their bachelor’s program. Fellows will receive funding for the full cost of attendance that is not already covered by other financial aid, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Additionally, Fellows will be paired with a mentor within the field of study and industry that they wish to pursue. 
The Scholarship Application Process and Timeline
The scholarship application opened on Monday, January 15, 2018. All students must complete the Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program application by Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at 5:00 PM PST. Finalists will be invited in March to complete the Finalist Supplement. Recipients will be announced in late-April, and they will attend the inaugural Summer Leadership Summit in Charlotte, NC June 27-July 1, 2018.
In order to apply, a student must first create a MyWFALFP Profile. The MyWFALFP Profile is a student's portal for everything related to The Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program, including the application, and – if he/she is selected as a Fellow – all associated support services.
To apply, students must be:
  • A high school senior with a Spring 2018 graduation date
  • Pell-eligible, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • A US citizen, national, or permanent resident
  • In good academic standing with a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
Additionally, students must submit either an SAT or ACT score.  
Selected Wells Fargo Fellows must enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US accredited, not-for-profit, private or public college or university. Failure to enroll in the Fall of 2018 will lead to forfeiture of the scholarship. 
As part of this intensive co-curricular programming, Wells Fargo Fellows will receive personal and professional development training, access to financial capabilities workshops, mentoring, internship and career exploration, and participate in numerous community engagement opportunities. Fellows must participate in all Wells Fargo webinars and attend the firm's annual Summer Leadership Summits in order to maintain funding eligibility.

*Peach State Federal Credit Union Scholarship
It’s scholarship time at Peach State Federal Credit Union!  For our 2018 Scholarship Program, we are awarding more than $158,000 in scholarships and educational grants.  Our 16th Annual Legacy Student Scholarships and the Dr. John Jackson Scholarship are part of this program.

The nine $2,000 Legacy Student Scholarships are given in honor of past and present Board members and employees who have served Peach State for 20 years or more.  They will be awarded to high school seniors who will be attending college to pursue a degree in education.

Our Dr. John Jackson Scholarship honors Dr. John Jackson, retired Superintendent of Oconee County Schools, for his contributions to the Oconee County school system.  It will be awarded to an Oconee County Public School graduating senior pursuing a degree in education. 
All scholarship winners will be chosen by the end of April 2018 and notified shortly thereafter.
Please distribute this information along with the attached scholarship applications to any of your high school seniors that meet the qualifications. In order for students to be considered, completed applications and supporting documentation must be received by Peach State no later than March 16, 2018.   We ask that you also post the attached applications on your school’s website.  
Please note: students should not submit multiple applications for our scholarships. Applications to more than one of our scholarships will not increase eligibility or chances of being selected. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

For thirty years, the GA Fire Sprinkler Association essay contest has exposed thousands of high school senior and their families to the life safety and property protection attributes of fire sprinklers. *Project Yellow Light

The "Project Yellow Light/Hunter Garner Scholarship" ("Contest") consists of three competitions, one for Video, one for Design and one for Radio. All competitions have two levels, one for high school juniors and seniors (or the equivalent thereof) between the ages of 14 and 20 at the time of entry ("HS Contest") and one for undergraduate college students between the ages of 15 and 25 at the time of entry ("College Contest"). The Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who, at the time of entry, are:
  • High school juniors and seniors (or the equivalent thereof) who will complete their high school graduation requirements by July 2018 or 2019 and who intend to attend a U.S. accredited college or university (or the equivalent thereof) beginning in the fall of 2018 or 2019 (the "High School Criteria");
  • Undergraduate college or university students (or the equivalent thereof) who are currently attending a U.S. accredited college or university and are between 15 and 25 at time of entry (the "College Criteria"). The High School Criteria and the College Criteria are collectively referred to as the "Eligibility Criteria".
The Video contest begins October 31, 2017 at 12:00:01 a.m. ET and ends April 1, 2018 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET (the "Video Contest Period"). The Design contest begins October 31, 2017 at 12:00:01 a.m. ET and ends March 1, 2018 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET (the "Design Contest Period"). The Radio contest begins October 31, 2017 at 12:00:01 a.m. ET and ends April 1, 2018 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET. PYL’s clock is the official clock for the purposes of this Contest.

*Chi Psi Bryan Memorial Scholarship
Incoming Georgia Tech students: Alpha Iota Delta of Chi Psi Fraternity is proud to announce the Bryan Scholarship to GA Tech. *2018 Georgia Scholars Application for Seniors 
We are always looking for ways to recognize our students and their accomplishments!  This is a program that can provide your student with recognition at the state level.  Through the Georgia Scholar program, the Department of Education identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school and community life. The program is coordinated by the Department’s Excellence Recognition Office and through local coordinators in each public school system and in private schools throughout the state. Each Georgia Scholar receives a seal for his or her diploma.
Students eligible for Georgia Scholar recognition are high school seniors who:
·         exhibit excellence in all phases of school life, in community activities, and in the home.
·         Georgia Scholars are students who have carried exemplary course loads during the four years of high school; who performed excellently in all courses;
·         who successfully participated in interscholastic events at their schools and in their communities;
·         who have assumed active roles in extracurricular activities sponsored by their schools.​
The recognition is open to any student who qualifies.
The Application and one page reference letter is the only thing that should be submitted.
No mailed or faxed applications accepted 
Reference letters are to be from outside school personnel and family
Do not attached copies of transcripts, SAT/ACT scores, voter registration or photos to the application
All criteria on the application must be completed for consideration
Section A must be filled out with specific class information

*Presbyterian College Fellows Award
This scholarship recognizes high school juniors who have demonstrated potential for future success. The $4,000 scholarship awards $1,000 annually for four years of study at Presbyterian College.
Selection as a PC Fellow also grants students consideration for other academic scholarships ranging from $6,000 to $23,000. Please see the attached letter and application for more information. Deadline  to complete the online nomination form is March 31.

Are you a student of Korean descent (American citizens and non-citizens) OR are you the direct descendant of an American veteran who served in the Korean War era (June 25, 1950-January 31, 1955)? *Julian and Jan Hester Memorial Scholarship
The goal of the Julian & Jan Hester Memorial Scholarship is to assist deserving high school seniors in their first year of college and to promote community banking. To compete, students must be sponsored by a local community bank, must complete an activity record expressing their leadership activity in school, write a short essay on community banking, provide teacher recommendations and an official high school transcript. Awards are based on academic merit and not financial need. Deadline is April 6, 2018

The primary purpose of this award is to recognize the achievements of two North Oconee High School graduating seniors who provide evidence of good citizenship, an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community, academic achievements and a record of service to the community without personal financial reward. the amount of the award is $1,000 to each of two graduating seniors. *Dreams To Kings and Queens Scholarship
My name is Tracy Stephens. I am the CEO & Founder of Dreams To Kings and Queens. Each year we award two $500 scholarships and three laptops to graduating seniors. We know that paying for college can be a tough task for many students that graduate from high school. This scholarship is intended to help students have a chance at pursuing a college education and accomplish their dreams.

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2018 competition.

The 43rd annual Boston University Trustee Scholarship is up for grabs. Each year there are 25 new Trustee Scholars who are welcomed to the Boston University community. To be considered, students must submit their application for admission along with two Trustee Scholarship essays by December 1, 2017. *Polly Hardigree Ward Memorial Scholarship

The Polly Hardigree Ward Memorial Scholarship was established by Vivian Clarie Ward in memory of her mother, Polly Hardigree Ward. The scholarship is awarded each year to graduates from Oconee County High School and North Oconee High School who pursue a college education in Agriculture or Natural Resources. The amount of the award is $1,250.00 each, for one student from OCHS and one from NOHS. Mail your application to Hardigree Wildlife Sanctuary.
