The NOHS Guidance Office is proud to announce that the 2010-2011 applications for the Oconee Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Program are now available. Make note applications are due by September 13th.
Youth Leadership Oconee targets 10th and 11th grade students who want to further develop their leadership skills and channel those skills towards helping others and improving their community.
The program meets monthly beginning in October and offers sessions on Communication and Team Building, County Government & Services, Entrepreneurship, Education, Arts & Nonprofits, and Agriculture. In addition to the monthly sessions, participants are encouraged to complete 30 hours of volunteer service. Youth Leadership Oconee provides service opportunities but encourages participants to seek out projects on their own or in small groups.
Applications are available at the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce and on the Chamber’s website, www.oconeechamber.org .
