Registration "Musts"

We are about to register for classes for the 2012-13 school year.  This is an extremely important time that requires thought and good communication in order to make the best decisions about course options.  We have compiled a list of "musts" that parents and students must do in order to make this time as valuable as it can be.

- You "must" attend the AP/Curriculum Fair/PSAT-PLAN Night on January 19th Here is the breakdown of the evening:
AP Night – 5:00-6:15pm

Curriculum Night – 5:30-7:00pm

PSAT/PLAN Information Session – 7:00pm, in auditorium

- You "must" communicate with your student's teachers and or counselor if you do not feel comfortable with course recommendations that the teacher made for your student.  Teachers will recommend classes for the students that they have taught based solely on "demonstrated performance" in the effort to direct students to the most appropriate courses.  Parents are able to override this recommendation, but please know that these decisions are not reversible!

-You "must" carefully decide about taking any AP class(es).  Contracts that will keep your student in the AP class will be signed, so know what you are getting in to.

- You "must" work as a team with your student.  The student should not exclude you from these decisions, and parents should make sure that students have some say-so in the registration choices.

This is a very important time for your student as we gear up for the next school year.  We look forward to your partnership as we maximize your student's learning opportunities for next year.
