Walton EMC will once again continue to offer the Washington Youth Tour for students' whose homes who are served by Walton EMC. This opportunity is merit-based, in that a student must apply (by February 8th), take a test on electricity/cooperatives, Walton EMC, and the electric utility industry (don't worry, you will be provided the information in advance that you will be tested on), and last, make it through an interview. Four contestants will ultimate win an opportunity to go on this tour, which will include exclusive meetings with senators and representatives and will include seminars on leadership skills training. The trip's dates are June 13-20, 2013. To qualify for this opportunity, you must be a high school sophomore or junior. Mr. Shook is a past winner of this when he was in high school, and has repeatedly spoken about the high quality of this tour.
