Walton EMC - Washington Youth Tour

Walton EMC
 Washington Youth Tour

You’re probably thinking, “I have been to Washington before. Why would this trip be any different?” Good question!

Students attending the Youth Tour take advantage of the relationships Georgia’s EMCs have spent years building with our state and national leaders. Students will have lunch and one-on-one conversations with Georgia’s U.S. representatives and senators. They will also have photo ops with the likes of Governor Nathan Deal and Senator Johnny Isakson.

Of course students will see the sites of Washington, but certified leadership trainers also sprinkle the week with personal development and leadership activities. They will enjoy the social and cultural activities throughout the week, like a Potomac River cruise/dance and seeing a musical at the Kennedy Center.

Students will meet and develop lifelong friendships with students just like them--Georgia’s best. Some have decided on a career in public service and government solely due to their Youth Tour experience.  We all know that competition is fierce for scholarships and other activities your students want to participate in. Having the Washington Youth Tour on their resume will definitely be to their advantage.

Students who live or attend school in Walton EMC’s service area are eligible to apply. Please see the attached brochure for more details on the tour.  Contact Jennifer Broun at 770-266-2572 or jbroun@waltonemc.com if you have any questions.
