Do you have strong academic students in English, history, sociology, or languages? Are they thinking about pursuing the humanities in college? As a reminder, Hopkins will be hosting its 2nd annual Humanities Overnight Program in spring 2019 and we are asking you to nominate your students for this unique opportunity! WHAT IS THIS PROGRAM?On Monday, March 4-Tuesday, March 5, 2019, we will welcome a small group of high school juniors with an expressed interest in the humanities to our undergraduate Homewood campus in Baltimore, Maryland. This is an incredible opportunity for your top humanities students to spend 24 hours on our campus and meet with current students and faculty.This expenses-paid program will include opportunities to learn more about the humanities experience at Hopkins, sit in on classes, meet current professors and experts in their fields, and attend a college essay writing workshop. WHO WOULD BE A GOOD CANDIDATE?We are asking counselors and teachers to nominate academically strong juniors with an interest in the humanities for this program. Strong candidates are students who are taking a rigorous course load during their junior year (particularly in English, history, or other humanities-focused classes) and are succeeding academically. These should be promising students you feel would thrive in an academic culture like ours.Humanities Overnight Program cannot be considered without a nomination.WHY STUDY THE HUMANITIES HERE?We look forward to receiving your nominations for this program.
