Thoughts on Thankfulness

This Thanksgiving week, we have the opportunity to pause, take an inventory of life and to stop and say "thank you."  This simple act often gets pushed out by life's business.  When we neglect to tend to this practice in life, the results can be anger at what life hasn't given us, jealousy at what life has given to others, and a lack of self worth.  Taking these days over the next week to really think about all the good things that we have will remedy these outcomes.  The challenge, sometimes, is to rake back the debris of problems to get to the root of what is truly a blessing in life.  Friends and family may not be perfect, but they are what matters most and should be a reason for gratitude in life.  I hope that we will all spend time taking an honest inventory of the good things in our life this week. Also, put the bad things in to perspective- they are there to teach us strength and are ultimately serving a purpose.  Thanksgiving at the highest level is being thankful for those tough things at well.  The benefits that thankfulness will bring in to your life will be amazing.

Suffice it to say that the Guidance Office folks are so thankful for the parents and students that we get to work with every day.  You are some of the best people we know and we walk out of NOHS each afternoon satisfied knowing that we are blessed to serve such great people.  Have a great week with your families.
