Move One When Ready (aka- "Dual Enrollment") Meeting on January 14 at 6 pm

Are you interested in taking a class at one of our local colleges next school year where you will earn both college and high school credit for that class?  It is becoming more popular for students to take care of college credits BEFORE they graduate, and we have seen the number of students doing that through North Oconee increase significantly over the last few years.

This is an incredible opportunity, but it is one that requires both student and parent being "very awake at the wheel" when attempting to maneuver the Move On When Ready (official name for dual enrollment) process and experience.  The first step is attending the Move One When Ready meeting on January 14th at 6 pm in Fine Arts Auditorium.  We will have representatives from Athens Tech, Piedmont, University of Georgia, and University of North Georgia at this event to educate you on their programs so that you can determine which program is the best fit and learn about the requirements for admission into each program.  Also, we will have a representative there to introduce you to a program called GATRACS that will help students and families to see how qa class that is taken in a Move On When Ready setting will transfer to the college that will follow.  It is a great tool!

This meeting is a MUST ATTEND meeting if you are considering Move On When Ready next year.  Failure to attend this meeting will create a lot of confusion for you and your student and will ultimately result in a less-than-satisfying experience for all later on.  See you on the 14th!
