Vision - North Oconee High School
As we continue to grow and change, it is important as a
group that we have a shared vision of where we hope to take North Oconee High
School. An effective vision statement
clarifies the school's view about tomorrow's opportunities and challenges. In addition, a well-articulated vision
statement concisely describes the strategy we will use to reach our desired
future state. Vision statements should
be concise, appeal to all stakeholders, consistent with the mission,
verifiable, feasible, and inspirational.
While Missions and Values do not change regularly for organizations, the
Vision statement must change and grow along with the school (adapted from
GLISI).
We have been reviewing our current Vision statement for
North Oconee High School since the beginning of the school year.
We have had wonderful feedback from teachers, staff,
parents, and students regarding the vision.
A a whole, we believe everything in the current vision is important and
that we are progressing well with our vision. Taking into account other
feedback provided, we have drafted four vision statements that reflect our
current needs for a North Oconee vision.

Our current vision:
North Oconee High School will be a nationally-recognized
high school in academic achievement by ensuring all students receive rigorous,
balanced education that will enable them to compete in and contribute to a
global society.
#1 North Oconee High School will be a nationally-recognized
high school in academic achievement by ensuring all students receive rigorous,
balanced education that will enable them to compete in and contribute to a
global society with integrity. Students will achieve balance by applying
themselves academically while choosing extracurricular opportunities and
elective courses they deem relevant to their goals and as a one who is a
positively contributing member of society.
Option 1
#2 North Oconee High School will be a nationally-recognized
high school in academic achievement by ensuring all students receive rigorous,
balanced education that will enable them to compete in and contribute to a
global society using their unique individual talents.
Option 2
#3 North Oconee High School will continue to be a
nationally-recognized high school ensuring our students are prepared to be
competitive in a global society by equipping them with a rigorous, balanced,
and relevant education; unique cross-curricular experiences; and respect for
core values of character, integrity, and good citizenship.
Option 3
#4 North Oconee, a nationally recognized high school, will
continue to provide a rigorous, balanced education for our student clientele.
Ensuring each student’s success in a competitive global society is our number
one goal. Using all facets of the educational process and continuing to focus
on the delivery of core values, North Oconee will remain the hub of the
community that we represent.
