Changes to GAcollege411.org are on the horizon

If you have attended any counseling sessions at NOHS, you are very familiar with Gacollege411.org and realize how life changing the website can be for college admissions and career purposes!  We have used the site over the years to contemplate career and college options, review GPA calculations for the HOPE/Zell Miller scholarship program, apply to college, and submit transcripts to universities.  It has been a one stop shop for various college and career activities.

Our time with GAcollege411.org is drawing to a close and a new website is on the horizon!    Why does this matter to you?  There are several reasons why you need to know that the website is transitioning to something new.

  • Once the roll over happens to GAFutures (July 20th), students will no longer have access to their information in GAcollege411.org.
  • We will no longer be able to send transcripts through GAcollege411.org after  July 15th!
  • College applications that are in progress will not be accessible after the transition to GAFutures occurs (July 20th).
So what does this mean for you?

  • If you are a 2016 graduate and need a final transcript submitted to a college, please log into your account and submit a transcript request.
  • All students should be able to log into their account to see their HOPE/ZELL Miller grade calculation.
  • Students that are applying to colleges as a MOWR student and have not submitted their application and/or transcript should complete that transaction as quickly as possible.

I have attached a cheat sheet for parents and student so that you can be fully aware of the new opportunities that are to come in regards to GAFutures and the timeline for the change.  Please let your counselor know if you have questions or concerns regarding this transition.
