I love google maps! It can take away anxiety by providing me with a step by step plan that helps me reach my destination. It helps me plan a clear path (avoiding traffic/alternate route if there is a wreck) and helps give me a time frame for my journey. In the guidance office, we hope that we can become the google maps of college admissions for our students. By having senior meetings and keeping a close connection with our students throughout the process, we want to help them navigate whatever path they are choosing to take after high school.
On September 1st UGA opened up their undergraduate application portal. Since that time, our office has been pretty slammed with questions regarding the application process. In order to provide some insight and direction, we will host a lunch and learn on Tuesday, September 13th. We will meet during Titan Time and each lunch period to review the application process. If your student is entertaining UGA as a post-secondary option, please have them come by the PLC on September 13th during their Titan Time or lunch period. Please make sure that you use this resource! We don't want to "lose" any students because they didn't use their map and made some critical mistakes in the admissions process. We look forward to seeing you September 13th!
