Governor's Honors Program:  The Time Is Now!

The Governor's Honors Program (GHP) is a highly selective program for gifted and talented high school students.  This is a residential summer program that allows for students to experience academic, cultural, and social enrichment; students have the opportunity to major and study in an area of concentration while exploring other academic or artistic genres through minor studies.  Students collaborate with other like-minded peers as they learn from prestigious faculty from across the state.  GHP is an experience like none other as it seeks to facilitate an environment that fosters the development of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders in the next generation of students.

Think GHP sounds amazing?  You are right!  How do you find out more about this opportunity?  GHP is ONLY open to current sophomores and juniors.  Students must be nominated (either by a teacher or self-nominated) to compete in one of the 11 content areas. Check out the links below to learn more about areas of nomination, the application process, and the selection process.  Mrs. Dooley is your point of contact on GHP, and she will hold an information session for all interested sophomores and juniors this Friday, September 23rd, during Titan Time in the PLC (next to the counseling office).  So if you think you have what it takes to compete with the best around the state and you would like to self-nominate for GHP, please make plans to attend the meeting as Mrs. Dooley will break it all down for you.  Hope to see you Friday!
