Great Video About How Applications Are Reviewed By Colleges

This video is a youtube video that the Georgia Tech Admissions Office created to help students and parents understand the admissions process.  I thought that it would be beneficial to share for two reasons.

1.  It is helpful for you guys to become aware with how the system works in regards to uploading paperwork and how applications are reviewed.

2.  I am hoping that it will increase the amount of students that attend college visits during Titan Time.  A key point of the video is in noting that the regional rep is a key player in application review from their area.  When a college representative attends NOHS for a campus visit- THEY ARE OUR REP!  They are who reads our applications, they are the ones that can fight for our students when things come down to the wire.  If a student left a positive impression in a college visit session, it can make a difference!  So, if your student is interested in applying to an institution and you see that they are headed to NOHS- sign up and make sure that your student is aware of appropriate behavior in those settings (no texting and whispering during the session).  Check out our new college visit calendars on the blog, counseling link off of the NOHS website, and even noted on the school home page.  We want to put this information in lots of places so that you guys are aware of who is on our campus and when!  It is never too early to start attending these sessions- we welcome all grade levels!
