Mr. Sid Jesup from the North Georgia Regional Commission in
Athens is coming on Thursday, April 20th during Titan Time to speak
with Seniors who are unsure what they'd like to do after graduation or would
like to hear more information on opportunities connected with technical
college. The Northeast Georgia Regional Commission partners with Athens
Technical College and offers two short term certification programs –
Manufacturing Fundamentals and
Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program. There will also be a representative,
Mr. Pete McGill, from Athens Tech in attendance to answer your questions.
Mr. Jesup will also be speaking about the Workforce
Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program for Seniors who are attending a
Technical College in the fall or a Northeast Georgia WIOA approved program.
Participation in a WIOA program may be able to assist you with tuition, books,
and other services as well as make you eligible for participation in the WIOA
Summer Work Experience Program. Check out the flyers below and we will see you
