Georgia Tech recently released an article that touches base on an area that we want to ensure that parents and students are very aware- college selectivity. North Oconee has some amazing students that are doing amazing things, yet, they may not get into the college of their choice for various reasons. Rick Clark, Admissions Director for Georgia Tech, does an amazing job of conveying the most important message surrounding college admission and your student. You want your student to know that no matter what happens in life that you love them and are proud of them doing their best. So many times we hear students who feel that they have let their parents down by not earning acceptance to a particular college or major. Wherever your student is applying, please convey the message that you will accept them no matter their test scores or GPA. The college admission process can be tough and this article does a great job of helping parents put the process in perspective for their students. Enjoy the moments that you have exploring the options and help them navigate the school that is truly the best "fit" for them!
