College Essay Guy: He has a lot of free resources that are great for students on a multitude of topics, and his resume writing is just one of them. Even though college is in the title of everything he does, his resume examples can really apply in many ways if you are also applying for a job. Here's a link to his resume post with different examples and tips on getting started.

Indeed: Indeed is a job search engine, but has a great resume post specifically for high school students looking for a job. They have great tips and advice on what to include, how to advertise skills you've learned from the classes you've taken, and how to talk about what you've done up to this point.

One of the biggest things about writing a resume is highlighting all the things you've been involved in and done up to this point. Employers and colleges know that your volunteer and work history won't be lengthy, due to your age, but being able to find a resume format that you feel has a good fit for what your experiences have been can help with the process. One key piece is expanding on all the things you've done in high school that will show an array of skills that you have.

It's a good idea to keep a log from freshman year and build  your involvement in clubs, sports, and organizations, both in and outside of school, so that when you create your resume to apply to college or a job, you have all the information right there! It helps with the stress of not having to rely on your memory when the time comes to formulate it. We hope these resources have been helpful in getting the process started in creating your resume. Happy writing!
