Weekend in the Classic City: Total College Experience

Weekend in the Classic City College Total Experience

The Weekend in the Classic City event registration site is open, for the 2018 event, “Marveling at College.” Weekend in the Classic City, hosted by Georgia Collegiate 4-H Club, provides high school youth (9th-12th grade) the opportunity to learn more about higher education and life as a college student. The event, held on the University of Georgia’s campus, offers youth to explore:

 College search process

 Applications

 Preparation for college life

 Financial aid and scholarships

 Student life and campus organizations

Explore workshops, a campus tour, eat at a university dining hall, explore dormitory living, and experience, firsthand, the University of Georgia.

NEW THIS YEAR

· Adult leaders participating in Weekend in the Classic City have supervisory roles, and play an integral part of the success of the event. Parents should not use this event as an opportunity for an official campus visit, as they will have adult assignments and responsibilities – please make this clear to volunteers you send. I would instead encourage them to schedule an official visit at https://visit.uga.edu/ separate from this event.

· In an effort to streamline the process, payments will not be accepted at registration. Please ensure your payment is postmarked by Friday, October 12, 2018.
