Keep Oconee County Beautiful Commission: Youth Advisory Council Applications

Keep Oconee County Beautiful Commissioner

Keep Oconee County Beautiful Commission is currently seeking applications for their Youth Advisory Council for the
2019-2020 school year.  This group is made up of passionate middle and high school students who want to make
a positive difference in their community.  It's an excellent opportunity for students to gain leadership experience
and build their resumes while learning about sustainability and engaging in hands on projects.  Students meet
once a month for planning, service, or events.  The dates for the meetings are determined once the group is selected,
to best meet the scheduling needs of the students selected.

During the 2018/19 school year, the KOCBC YAC was instrumental in bringing public recycling to the
City of Watkinsville at Harris Shoals Park and Rocket Field.  They also helped certify Harris
Shoals Park, Watkinsville Woods and John McNally Park as recognized Wildlife Habitats in addition
to multiple clean ups, the fall festival and other community events.

More information is available
Applications are due on August 22nd.
