Dear Professional Counselor,
In the attached brochures and information below are two opportunities hosted by the University of North Georgia this summer: (1) GenCyber Warrior Academy for your students interested in cybersecurity, and (2) the AGENTs for Change initiative for your teachers interested in computer science and cybersecurity teaching. These programs are funded by federal grants, and are offered at no cost to your students or teachers. Please forward this information to those who might be interested.
GenCyberWarrior Academy dates: June 5-11, 2022. Application Deadline: January 31st, 2022
The GenCyber Warrior Academy (GCWA) is a six-day, residential cyber academy for high school students at the University of North Georgia’s Dahlonega Campus. The camp features 30+ hours of on-site instruction, plus 16-20 hours of pre- and post-camp virtual enrichment activities, culminating with free attendance at the Hacker Halter 2022 conference in Atlanta in October. The GCWA will prepare students for military, federal service, and commercial cybersecurity career paths with an emphasis on personal, organizational, and national cybersecurity awareness and ethical cyber operations training. It is taught by our own Department of Computer Science Ph.D. and master’s faculty members.
Please pass this information to your students who may be interested! Additional information is available on-line at https://ung.edu/cyber-operations-education/index.php (click on “Cyber Programs” in the menu ribbon at the top left of the page.
