As an education system we are charged with many responsibilities, one of the most important is raising new mindful and contributing leaders in our society. The Georgia Civic Awareness Program provides opportunities for our students to learn the importance of being an active member in local government. It is a great option for students that are curious about local politics and how decisions in a community impact various opportunities and businesses.
Applications for the Georgia Civic Awareness Program are now available for this school year. It is a PDF Form so students can type directly into the form and email it back to ksashley@uga.edu. This year, we have opened GCAPS up to 10th graders as well. Remind students that they can return to the program for a second year. We have updated the activities from last year. Applications are due by September 20th.
