NOHS will be administering several assessments this year on
the morning of Wednesday, October 24th. There's a special schedule (attached)
for that day as well.
The choices and process for registration are listed below:
- All 9th grade students will take the PSAT 8/9, which is their grade level version of the PSAT/NMSQT.
- All 10th grade students will take the PSAT/NMSQT.
- Students in the 11th grade will also take the PSAT/NMSQT but must register and pay $17 in order to do so. The deadline to register is Friday, September 21st (http://totalregistration.net/PSAT/110401). There is also a link on the school website.
- Students in the 11th grade may elect to not take the PSAT but take the ACCUPLACER instead. The ACCUPLACER is an assessment used by many technical and community colleges to determine preparedness and placement in introductory credit-bearing courses. To select this option, students must complete the online ACCUPLACER Registration AND apply to Athens Technical College by Friday, September 21st. This exam will be administered at the NOHS Field House at 8:15 am, October 24th.
- A third option, for students interested in enlisting in the military, is taking the ASVAB at the Oconee County Civic Center. This assessment is utilized to predict future academic and occupational success in the military. Students should sign up for this option in the counseling office.
- 12th grade students will have special activities that will last throughout the morning.
More information will come later. Stay tuned.
