UGA Applicants in this Year's Senior Class

If you are applying Regular Admission or you were Deferred from Early Admission, I have sent out several messages through this blog (http://nohsguidanceblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/uga-applicants.html & http://nohsguidanceblog.blogspot.com/2015/01/seniors-applying-to-uga-on-or-before.html), text messages and over-the-school announcements pertaining to concerns that we are hearing about documents that are a required part of your application to UGA, namely your transcript that shows first semester grades and your School Report form.  Each message has been designed to let you know where we are with this process to bring you comfort.  Hopefully, this next message will help you to feel at ease if the others either did not make it to you or you need further assurance.

1. Each counselor does the School Report forms on the students out of each counselor's respective alphabet case load who have applied to UGA.  Our due date is the Thursday, 22nd and we will need every minute to knock those out.  Please be patient with this as these school reports are not the only tasks that we are assigned.  You will not be penalized if we do not get those in until the 22nd.  Also, it takes about 24-48 hours once we have done our part for it to appear on the status page you guys are checking.  Trust me, we know who has applied to UGA for whom we need to do a recommendation form, and it will be attended to without the need for you to do anything else.

2. Transcripts through www.gacollege411.org are not ready for the colleges to see.  There were several issues that have delayed this that are beyond our control.  Knowing that UGA would need theses ASAP, we spoke with the Office of Admission at UGA to share this issue and worked out a plan for us to send a pdf of your transcript to the Office of Admission via email.  That solution is in process at this time.  This means that you do not need to do anything about your transcript.  We have it taken care of.

In short, please know that we (who work really hard to make sure you are well served) in the Guidance Office have these two parts of your UGA application taken care of.  We worried about this before you did and came up with a good solution.  Now that the application is done, it is time for you to focus on other things, like Fiancial Aid and a FAFSA form completion.  That meeting is on Tuesday, the 27th at 6 pm in the Fine Arts.
