Going to Take MOWR classes at UNG Next Fall?

In January, Emily McIlwain from University of North Georgia Oconee Campus came to help students apply to UNG for Move On When Ready classes (formerly known as "Dual Enrollment").  Students started and completed the whole process in less than thirty minutes with the application fee waived.  This was posted by NOHS Guidance to increase the ease of the MOWR process.  There is a great reason to stay up-to-date on the Good Ol' Guidance Blog!

Every student who participated in this event (43 total) have either received acceptance or an email telling them what is still missing.  Each student who has been accepted for the 2016-17 school year or who was in MOWR program during 2015-16 school year who will continue next year will be eligible to participate in the next stage- the scheduling process at UNG offered to you in house at NOHS.

This year, we are trying to streamline the process by having Angie Murrell come in to schedule accepted MOWR students into the classes that they wish to take at UNG next fall.  At that same time, student and parent will be able to sit for a brief, mandatory advisement session to help them know how to handle paperwork procedures.  This will mean a one-stop shopping experience for student and parent.  This event will be by appointment only on March 15th and 16th during school hours.  This unique opportunity will allow student and parent freedom from having to go to UNG Oconee to meet and then come back on a separate day to NOHS to meet.  If you are interested in scheduling your time, click on the link below.

* If you elect to not participate in this event, you can still take MOWR classes at any of the colleges in our area, including UNG Oconee.  You will just have to schedule meeting with Ms. Murrell at UNG and then again with NOHS for advisement if planning on taking a course there.
